Connect for Health Colorado Goes Public!

The time has finally arrived; Colorado residents can now search for the perfect health insurance plans at the Health Insurance Exchange Marketplace.

As a part of the Affordable Care Act, the state has compiled 541 available insurance plans from 18 providers, and they’re all available through Connect for Health Colorado.

Open enrollment starts on October 1, 2013, and everyone is required to have a plan by January 1, 2014, so it’s a good idea to start searching now as all the rates are public.

For example:

A 40-year-old individual who doesn’t smoke can find a plan ranging from $177 to $705 a month.

Under-30 individuals who meet certain requirements can find a plan ranging from $136 to $355 a month.

Also, some individuals may qualify for certain subsidies or tax refunds that can help cover the cost of healthcare.
